Pastoral Ministry

Welcome Friends

Welcome to the pastoral ministry page at Saint Joan of Arc Parish in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.  It is my hope that through this page you will find some helpful resources to guide you during this unprecedented time in our history. God is calling each and every one of us to reach out to our families, friends, neighbors, and fellow parishioners in an effort to "lift the spirits of the lowly" and bring them peace and comfort.
Perhaps Saint Teresa of Avila said it best when she stated, "Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on the world. Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good; Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now."
I know all of you are being the hands of Christ during this time and rising to the occasion that demands so much patience and perseverance. Please know you are in my daily prayers and that soon we will all be worshiping together again. Stay healthy, strong, and know that God is with you. See you soon!

Saint Joan of Arc Vibrant Parish Prayer

Written by parishioner: Jane Zilly

Gracious God,

We are your people at St. Joan of Arc Parish, embraced by your love throughout all time. As a community of faith, joined together in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, we ask you to fill us with new life. Liberate us from all that keeps us from you. Heal us from every form of sin and violence. Reconcile us so that enemies become friends. Transform us to live your Word more profoundly. Open us to appreciate your presence in all ages, faiths and cultures. Awaken us to the sacred; nurture our relationships. Enliven our parish in the celebration and sharing of gifts. Enable us to recreate our world and restore justice. Fill us with joy to celebrate the fullness of life. Empower us to be a community of love, growing in your likeness. Please make St. Joan of Arc a vibrant parish, through your power and grace.

Volunteer Opportunities
The pastoral staff is always looking for volunteers to take Holy Communion to the homebound and to parishioners in local nursing homes. We are also looking for more people to be involved in the Women's Guild, Arc Angels for Life, Elizabeth Ministry, and the Repass Ministry. Please contact me at your convenience to learn more about these ministries. We would love to have you on our team!

Virtus Certification

VIRTUS is a nationally recognized program to train those who minister, work and volunteer on how to identify signs of sexual abuse in children. Everyone who works or volunteers with or around children MUST BE Virtus certified through the Diocese of Cleveland. Please contact me if you have questions about certification.

"Child sexual abuse is a worldwide public health issue. Child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse, is reprehensible—especially when the wrongdoer is affiliated with the Church. The VIRTUS® programs help the Church to be a safe haven for children and a messenger for child sexual abuse prevention within the Church and society in general. We seek to achieve this lofty goal through our child sexual abuse prevention program: Protecting God's Children®."
