Baptism Preparation

Baptism Preparation at SJA

The Sacrament of Baptism is a very special time where we receive into the Church, the newly Baptized, along with welcoming their family and sponsors to share in beginning the child’s journey of Faith.  Classes are offered both in-person and on-line with Zoom accommodations.
A quarterly schedule of classes, with posted dates, are routinely posted in the Bulletin and on-line on the Parish website.  Our next in person class will be September  13th at 7PM.  To sign up for a scheduled class or a  Zoom class, which can be arranged at any time based on needs and availability, for special circumstances.  For more information or to schedule a class call Diana @ 440-552-1046.

What is the Sacrament of Baptism?

"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word" (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213).

To learn more about how the Sacrament of Baptism incorporates us into the Body of Christ to be sent on a mission, download and read the Baptism Handout from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
