Summer Explorer Program - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

What: the Youth Ministry summer program is all new! Each month (June, July, and August), Youth Ministry is hosting 3 events - one fun/active/social, one spiritual/religious/faith-based, and one service. Students will get to pick and choose the events they attend, marking them off on their passport! The more events you attend, the better prizes you can win at the end of summer! Registration forms available here, forms and payment due back to Parish Office by June 2.

Metroparks Service Day: Tuesday, June
11 9am-12pm meet at SJA at 8:15 to carpool *
We’ll be going to the Acacia Reservation of the Cleveland MetroParks to serve our greater community by picking up litter and cleaning up the park. Water and snacks provided. Closed-toe shoes (sneakers/hiking boots) and long pants required. SEP t-shirt today!
Be the Light Retreat Day: Saturday,
June 15 10am-5:30pm
Start off your summer with a day of retreat! We’ll be reflecting on the theme Be the Light – finding the light of God in the world, those around us, and ourselves. The day will end with us going to 4:30pm mass as a group. Lunch and snacks provided. Active clothing highly suggested – we’ll be moving a lot and outside part of the day.
Canoeing/Kayaking: Wednesday, June 19
10am-2pm meet at SJA at 9 to carpool
Join us as we take a trip downriver at Camp HI! Choose between a canoe, tandem kayak, or single kayak for your 2 mile adventure down the Upper Cuyahoga River. We’ll end with a cookout and games next to the river. Swimsuits/clothing you don’t mind getting wet and shoes that you can wear in the water mandatory. It is suggested to bring dry clothes and a towel. Paddles and life vests are provided by Camp Hi.
Pioneer Water Park: Friday, July 5
11am-3pm meet at SJA at 10 to carpool
Relax after 4th of July by joining us poolside! We’ll be at Pioneer Water Park, where you can enjoy a pool, water slides, and more! Please keep swimsuits modest. Please bring a bag lunch or money to purchase a lunch.
Cleveland Food Bank: Wednesday, July 10 10am – 12pm meet at SJA at 9 to carpool *
We’ll serve our greater community today by volunteering at the Cleveland Food Bank to sort and repack donations. Event registration on the Cleveland Food Bank website mandatory – instructions to follow for those that sign up. Long pants and closed-toe shoes mandatory. SEP

Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist:
Sunday, July 14 12pm-2:30pm meet at SJA at 10:45 to carpool
We’ll journey downtown to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for 12pm mass, followed by a tour of the cathedral. Come learn about the center of the Catholic Church in Cleveland!
Captain’s Baseball Game: Friday, August 2 7pm Meet at SJA at 5:45 to carpool
We’re going out to the ballgame! Join us at a Lake County Captain’s Baseball game, complete with fireworks! SEP

The Fest: Sunday, August 4 2pm-10pm meet
at SJA at 12:45 to carpool
Come together with other Catholics from all over to hear world-famous Christian bands, say the rosary, participate in Eucharistic Adoration, and more! End the day with mass said by Bishop Perez along with thousands of other people. Schedule for the day to be determined – come for part of the time or stay all day! SEP t-shirt today!
Service Day at St. Aloysius: Monday, August 12 1pm-4pm meet at SJA at 12 to carpool
Serve teens and younger kids just like you as we work at St. Aloysius-St. Agatha Parish and School in the Colinwood/Glenville area of downtown Cleveland. We’ll be helping to get the school ready for the new school year. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. SEP t-shirt today!
